Tania was a loved member of Sing Australia St George - a community singing group based in Sydney. She sang with the Altos and also managed the tea and coffee tables for our Practice Night suppers.
A retired high school teacher and careers adviser, Tania lived in Sydney, but her heart belonged to the sunburnt country, the sweeping plains of Dorothea Mackeller. Tania was with her daughter in far north Queensland when she passed away.
Tania's favourite song was “Oh What a Beautiful Morning”. She recalled: "When my children were just babies and I had to wake through the early hours of the morning I sometimes felt out of sorts. I found that instead of losing my cool, if I sang 'Oh What a Beautiful Morning' it helped me to cope much better."
Tania revelled in her work as Careers Adviser, and got the greatest kick out of opening up new options for high school students to explore their career pathways. For Tania, it was quite something to see students light up as they made connections with what they wanted in life and how to actually do it.
Vale, Tania.
