Walking with purpose and gratitude

As many of our friends and family know Nat and I are heading off to walk the Camino Frances — a 800km journey that we hope will be grounding,simplistic and meaningful. We will walk,eat,sleep, repeat, appreciate nature, and feel present in life. We would love to use this walk to honour our dear friend Vickey Gallagher who lost her life to metastatic melanoma, and to walk for all those who can’t walk this path themselves. At some point in our lives, all of us have been touched by cancer in one way or another, and it’s a cause that sits very close to our heart.

We have chosen to support The Chris O’Brien Lifehouse Foundation because we are incredibly inspired by Chris’s legacy ( renowned Australian cancer surgeon who championed the creation of an holistic cancer centre, bravely fought a  diagnosis of glioblastoma in 2006 and passed away in 2009)and by the courageous journey Professor Richard Scolyer ( world leading Australian pathologist and melanoma researcher)is currently undertaking to help advance cancer research through using an experimental treatment approach on himself after being diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2023 and becoming both patient and research subject. Their dedication, compassion and determination to make a difference have already transformed so many lives, and continue to inspire hope for the future.
