Our Game Plan

Tuesday 23rd Sep
On Friday the 3rd of October, a five man army (consisting of Josh, Jonah, Jake, Jordan, and Harry) will be taking on a test of endurance: running 50km across 24 hours.

Each of us is bringing something unique (and maybe a little unhelpful!) to the mix: Harry’s pushing through ankle soreness, Josh is being brave with a sore knee, Jonah is planning to survive on gels alone, Jordan and Jake are both putting in a shift at their respective workplaces the next day. 

The plan is simple: start with an 8km run, then add 7km every four hours until we hit the big 50.

Here’s what that looks like:
• 5pm – 8km
• 9pm – 15km
• 1am – 22km
• 5am – 29km
• 9am – 36km
• 1pm – 43km
• 5pm – 50km

It will mean running through the night with head torches on, pushing through fatigue and sore legs, and seeing if we can make it to the end together.

We wanted this run to be about more than just testing ourselves. Chris O’Brien Lifehouse has played a significant part in the lives of some people close to us who’ve been impacted by cancer. Their care, support, and research make a huge difference for patients and families facing some of life’s hardest moments.
