Inez Susanne Jones

Our dearest and best friend, partner, daughter, sister, aunty, teacher, colleague, and fur-mum. Our person. Our source of so much love and light. Inez showed us how to be in this world… how to make the world better by being more human... We love her more than can be expressed, we miss her always, and we overflow with gratitude for her everyday.
Inez was diagnosed with advanced gastric cancer in May 2021 and in May 2022 it took her life. During her journey with cancer Inez showed the world how to face adversity with kindness, courage, and grace. She showed us what it means to be a person of hope.
We were fortunate to be welcomed tenderly into the kind hands of the nurses, doctors, and staff at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse; a loving, caring and capable group of people to share a heavy load. Lifehouse became a bit like home; a comfortable and warm environment in which to be scared, hopeful, anxious, sad, and all the other states of being that cancer brings. Lifehouse was a great source of comfort and, above all, hope. For this we are endlessly grateful.
We hope this donation page in honour of our beloved Inez helps to bring that same comfort and hope to those who need it most when experiencing the darkness and weight of a cancer diagnosis, now and into the future.
