We’ve chosen to donate to Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, in lieu of flowers at the funeral and I wanted to share why.

Over the years, this incredible hospital has looked after Bren in ways I’ll never be able to fully put into words. But especially over the last six weeks, I have witnessed firsthand the care, compassion, patience and humanity that the nurses and staff pour into their patients every single day.

Brendon  spent a lot of time at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, particularly throughout 2025, where he spent three months and truly got to know the nurses on his ward. They didn’t just care for him medically, they cared for him as a person. They knew him, they supported him, they treated him with dignity, kindness and genuine love during the hardest moments of his life.

Watching the way these nurses show up day after day, often in the most heartbreaking circumstances, is something truly incredible. This hospital and its people don’t just treat cancer, they hold families together when everything feels like it’s falling apart.

So dedicating this to Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is simply our way of saying thank you. Thank you for the care, the compassion, the late nights, the gentle words, the support, and for walking alongside Brendon and our family when we needed it most.
