Mum was diagnosed with advanced metastatic colorectal cancer in 2015, and was under the care of Dr Kate Mahon and team at the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse for most of her treatment.
Her resilience through years of chemotherapy, which came with frequent and often severe side effects, were a testament to her remarkable strength and inexhaustible optimism.
Mum was fortunate to have access to a world-leading quality of care, despite her financial disadvantage. Contributions made in her memory will be directed to the Chris O’Brien Equity of Access Fund, to ensure that patients experiencing financial hardship will not be excluded from accessing the best possible care, no matter where they live or what they can afford.
She will always be remembered and loved as a mother and a friend who put others first, even through her treatment. We miss her sorely and pray that your gift will help to uphold her legacy of selflessness and care for others.
