On the 24th of October, I’ll be running 80 kilometres in the , Bondi to Manly, Denza Ultra Marathon.

It’s a long way to run for someone who isn’t here to see it. But that date isn’t just another day on the calendar — it was my Dad’s birthday.

Dad was a builder. He spent his life building.

Now, I want to help build hope, build better treatments, build a future — and ultimately, build a cure for Brain Cancer.

When Dad was diagnosed with Brain Cancer, he fought for five years with unbelievable strength before we lost him.

There was one thing he could never build himself.

A cure.

So, on his birthday, I’ll run for him.

Every kilometre will have a purpose — to honour my Dad, to remember the fight he fought, and to help build a future where other families don’t have to go through what ours did.

Chris O’Brien Lifehouse was such an important part of Dad’s journey and of our family’s journey. The care, compassion and support they gave Dad, and the way they supported us as a family through some incredibly difficult moments, is something we will always be grateful for.

That is why I’m raising money for Chris O’Brien Lifehouse — to give back to a place that gave so much to our family and to support the ongoing fight against Brain Cancer

I’m also running for my cousin Brian in Ireland, who has recently been diagnosed with Brain Cancer . Brian, I’ll be thinking of you every step of the way.
