Give a direct line to cancer care
I don't know how I would have coped without a specialist nurse
I was building a family business and raising three young kids when I found out I had a rare, aggressive head cancer.
After an 18-hour surgery and weeks in hospital learning to walk, talk and eat again, going home felt overwhelming.
That’s when Carla, my specialist nurse, became my lifeline, someone I could call, who knew my story and could step in when something didn’t feel right.

Why specialist nurses matter
Specialist nurse involvement has shown to significantly improve outcomes, symptom management, and quality of life for their patients.
They provide practical and emotional support throughout cancer treatment and beyond, coordinate treatment plans, manage side effects, and help patients with the other aspects of their life that might be impacted by cancer.
Despite this, specialist nurses are not a standard part of cancer care in every hospital.
They are a consistent point of contact
They can identify and escalate issues early
How your support makes a difference
Cancer care is complex and deeply personal. Patients can move between specialists, treatments and stages of recovery with limited continuity once they leave hospital.
A specialist nurse is a critical layer or care that sits between hospital treatment and life at home. They also would not exist without donor funding.
Every dollar you donate will be invested in supporting the specialist nurses who provide crucial support and guidance to patients with cancer during the most challenging moments of their lives.
