Joel Shannahan and his friends came together in 2018 to lose their locks and raise funds for Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in memory of their mate Dylan, who sadly passed of testicular cancer earlier that year.
"We had up to 200 people in our backyard in Newport and raised a massive $30,000 for Chris O'Brien Lifehouse. It was an overwhelming effort by all our friends and family and speaks wonders of the com-munity we are humbled to be a part of."

In 2019, Upper Hunter brother and sister Lauren and Ben Taylor paddled an incredible 500km along the Hunter River in their kayaks to raise funds for Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.
A Guiness World Record attempt
In October 2020, 12-year-old Lachlan McIntrye took on the world record for the most consecutive pogo stick jumps with no hands to raise funds for Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
