"Libby"

"Take her for all in all, I shall not look upon her like again" Hamlet

Libby died peacefully on 29th Dec 2025 at age 70, after heroically living with metastatic breast cancer for over 11 years.

Born in Sydney on 15th April 1955, Elizabeth May Pusey was the youngest of five children born to Dorothea May Hart & Richard Gilbert Pusey. She is survived by her eldest sister Mary, older brother John and much loved in laws Tony & Liz. Predeceasing Libby, her older sister Wendy and older brother Richard are forever missed.

Beloved wife of Stephen Jurd for over 50 years, a lifetime of partnership; sharing parenting, education, cooking, travel and adventure. Much loved mother, mother-in-law & grandmother to Felicity & Leon, Renee & her husband Iain and their children; Arielle, Lewis & Annaliese, and Elliot & his wife Leigh and their children; Oliver, Henry & Emma.

After a notably successful & well reviewed childhood as a star of stage and screen, Libby built a career in research and analytics. She developed and designed research projects for the Alzheimer's Association and NSW Cancer Council, founded her own research business, Research Matters, and worked with SPSS, delivering training in their software products and statistics. An accomplished lifelong learner, she held two Master's degrees: Epidemiology (University of Newcastle) and Psycholinguistics (University of New England).

Libby was fiercely loyal to her family and friends, calm in a crisis, extremely practical, and unwavering in her support for those in need. She also gave generously of her time through volunteering, including working with the Australian Breastfeeding Association for over a decade.

Libby faced her illness, as she did her whole life, with characteristic stoicism and strength.

Forever loved and deeply missed.
