Letter from the CEO

03 Mar 2024

As we welcome in 2024, I want to extend my sincere gratitude for your continued support of Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.

Last year we saw many changes and milestones. I stepped into the role of CEO and feel privileged to  be given the opportunity to lead this remarkable institution and to grow our impact as a centre of excellence in cancer treatment and research.

Along with being the CEO, I will continue to work as a clinician, caring for patients and their families, and as a researcher, to always be improving treatment and outcomes.  In November last year, we celebrated our 10th anniversary. It was a great opportunity to pause and reflect on everything we have achieved. When Chris O’Brien Lifehouse began, our goal was t provide the best possible care, by the best doctors and clinical teams, in a place that felt more like home rather than a hospital. From the feedback we receive from our patients, I know we are achievingthis, but I know there is still much more to do and more we can continue to achieve together.

Over the last decade, we have advanced treatment options through research, and we have grow our specialist units to house multidisciplinary teams dedicated to improving outcomes for patients. Most importantly, we have developed a patient centred model of care and instilled a mindset in our amazing workforce that ensures all patients who walk through our doors are cared for as individuals.

I am so proud of everything we have achieved over the last 10 years, and I’m so grateful to our wonderful donor community who provide unwavering support and have made it possible for us to achieve more than we ever imagined.

Thank you for your generosity, not just for the last 10 years but for the future you are helping to shape.
